Is Sebum Good or Bad for Your Skin?
Sebum has a bad reputation. Most people link it to oily skin, shine and breakouts, and want rid of it as fast...
More info
Men's skin is different. It is thicker, produces more sebum and generally ages more slowly than women's skin. Even so, men's skin needs daily protection and nourishment too, precisely because it is the first to meet the world around it. At Abloom we believe healthy skin starts with pure, bioactive nourishment, from the inside as well as the outside. Our plant-based formulas work with your skin, not against it, keeping it balanced, hydrated and strong.

Some conventional products contain mineral oils that can clog pores and disrupt your skin's natural detoxification. When you switch to organic skincare, you may notice a few impurities or breakouts at first. Don't worry: this is a sign that your skin is adjusting and finding its balance again. It is temporary, and soon your skin will feel calm, clear and healthy.

Men's skin differs from women's skin in several ways, though there are similarities too. Age, lifestyle, sun exposure and diet affect both in the same way. But there are clear differences:
Please note: higher sebum production does not mean the skin needs no care. Excess sebum can clog pores and actually cause impurities. The goal is balance, not less care.

Skincare is not only about appearance. Your skin is your largest organ, and for your health it matters to nourish that organ from the outside as well. The factors that damage skin and body cells, such as sunlight, exhaust fumes, air pollution and electrosmog, reach the surface of your skin first.
Apply enough antioxidants there, through creams, serums and oils, and that damage is significantly reduced. For healthy men's skin it is therefore just as important to choose pure, organic, plant-based care rich in antioxidants.

The Gentle(man) Shaving Starter kit is a simple yet powerful starter skincare set designed specifically for men’s skin.
It provides an effective daily routine that cleanses, soothes and nourishes the skin and can even be used as a natural shaving cream and aftershave.
This Starter kit contains Purifying Cleanser, Soothing Lotion and Miracle Oil. 100% natural & healthy alternative for a smooth shave.

Three simple steps, tailored to what men's skin needs.
Tip 1 — Bring sebum into balance
Regulating sebum is the key for many men. A natural, cold-pressed plant oil blend works best for this. Natural oils resemble human sebum by around 98%, so they calm your own sebum production rather than stimulate it. Abloom Miracle Oil combines the finest and most powerful natural oils in a light formula that men's skin finds especially pleasant.
Tip 2 — A gentler shave
Men's skin can suffer from shaving-related irritation. Our tip for a nourishing, effective shaving foam: mix equal parts Purifying Cleanser and Miracle Oil and add water until a soft emulsion forms. You shave comfortably while nourishing and hydrating the skin at the same time.
Tip 3 — Soothe after shaving
After shaving, use Abloom Soothing Lotion as an aftershave. Where regular aftershaves often contain harsh, pigment- or hormone-disrupting ingredients, the Soothing Lotion repairs and calms the skin instead. Want to add a fragrance? Spray an eau de toilette on your clothing rather than your skin.

Your skin is the only organ you can nourish from both the inside and the outside. It is worth adjusting your diet too.
Eat more: Oily fish (salmon, mackerel, sardines) or algae oil, rich in omega 3. Avocado, walnuts, chia and flaxseed. Vegetables and fruit rich in antioxidants (berries, peppers, kale). Fermented foods (sauerkraut, kefir, kimchi) for gut flora. Water and herbal tea for hydration from within.
Limit or avoid: Foods high in omega 6 (sunflower, corn and soybean oil, fast food). Excess sugar, which speeds up the breakdown of collagen. Too much caffeine and alcohol, which dehydrate the skin.
Men's skin care
All about men's skin
Men's skin is thicker (up to 20-25%), produces more sebum due to testosterone, and contains more collagen, so it tends to age more slowly. But it faces the same sun, pollution and daily shaving, so it still needs protection and care.
Yes. Higher sebum doesn't mean no care. Excess sebum can clog pores and cause impurities, so the goal is balance, not less care. A light plant oil helps regulate sebum instead of stripping it.
Shave gently and nourish the skin at the same time. Our tip: mix equal parts Purifying Cleanser and Miracle Oil, add water until a soft emulsion forms, and shave with it. Afterwards, calm the skin with Soothing Lotion.
Yes. A cold-pressed plant oil resembles your own sebum by around 98%, so it calms oil production rather than adding greasiness. Miracle Oil is light and absorbs well, ideal for men's skin.
Use Abloom's Soothing Lotion as an aftershave. Regular aftershaves often contain alcohol and harsh, pigment- or hormone-disrupting ingredients; the Soothing Lotion repairs and calms instead. For fragrance, spray eau de toilette on your clothing, not your skin.
