Rosy cheeks can look healthy, but when they are caused by rosacea, the redness is a visible sign of inflammation you cannot see. At Abloom we see rosacea as closely linked to an imbalance between omega 3 and omega 6, which fuels low-grade inflammation at a cellular level. It shows first in the skin: dilated capillaries on the cheeks, redness, irritation and sometimes pimples. The way forward is not to fight the skin but to calm it, strengthen its barrier and restore balance, gently, from the inside and out. If your symptoms are severe or persistent, it is always wise to consult a doctor or dermatologist as well.

Certain things widen the small blood vessels in the skin and set off a flare-up. Knowing and avoiding your personal triggers is one of the most effective ways to keep rosacea calm. Common triggers include:
Important: during an active flare-up, avoid oils, even natural ones. Rosacea does not tolerate fatty substances well, so reach for lightweight, anti-inflammatory care instead of rich creams or facial oils.

Discover relief for your rosacea-prone skin with the Rosacea Regimen Box: gentle, organic formulas that soothe, reduce redness, and strengthen your skin barrier.
Visible comfort within 7–10 days.

Our skin specialist's guiding principle for rosacea is simple: less is better.
1. Rebalance your skin barrier
In the morning, splash your face with cold water only; in the evening, use our mild Purifying Cleanser. Its therapeutic ingredients are very gentle, help calm inflammation and will not further irritate the skin.
2. Calming serums
Rosacea does not like fatty substances, not even natural ones, which makes soothing the skin tricky. We advise layering our Hydrating Toner and Soothing Lotion, both packed with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial ingredients that help calm rosacea.
3. Strengthening skin booster
To support your skin's natural defences, our skin therapist advises using a Collagen Boost Mask or Green Detox Mask once or twice a week. These freeze-dried organic masks can be mixed with honey (anti-bacterial) or kefir yoghurt (to strengthen the skin's microbiome).
4. Increase your omega 3
Because rosacea is often linked to an imbalance between omega 3 and omega 6, try to increase these essential fatty acids. Take a supplement or eat oily fish like salmon or herring regularly. Vegan or vegetarian? Choose algae oil, walnuts or chia seeds.

"I bought the Rosacea Regimen Box to see if it works. And yes, it works very well. My skin looked calmer after two days. I stopped using it and switched back to my old day and night cream, and my skin looked worse again. So we're sticking with Abloom."

Because Abloom links rosacea so closely to inflammation, what you eat really matters. The aim is to shift the balance towards omega 3 and away from an excess of omega 6.
Eat more: Oily fish (salmon, herring, mackerel, sardines) or algae oil for omega 3. Walnuts, chia and flaxseed. Colourful vegetables and fruit rich in antioxidants. Fermented foods for a healthy gut.
Limit or avoid: Foods high in omega 6 (sunflower, corn and soybean oil, fried and processed food). Alcohol, spicy food and very hot drinks, all common flare-up triggers. Excess sugar, which fuels inflammation.
Rosacea skin care
All about rosacea
Rosacea shows up as redness, dilated capillaries on the cheeks, irritation and sometimes pimples. At Abloom we see it as a visible sign of low-grade inflammation, closely linked to an imbalance between omega 3 and omega 6. It is a chronic condition, it cannot be cured, but with gentle, consistent care and by avoiding triggers it can be kept calm and comfortable.
Common triggers widen the small blood vessels in the skin: heat (hot rooms, saunas, intense exercise), sun and UV, alcohol, spicy food, very hot drinks, sudden temperature changes, stress and harsh or fatty skincare products. Learning your personal triggers and avoiding them is one of the most effective ways to keep rosacea calm.
Not during an active flare-up. Rosacea does not tolerate fatty substances well, not even natural oils, so avoid rich creams and facial oils when your skin is flaring. Reach for lightweight, anti-inflammatory care instead, such as our Hydrating Toner and Soothing Lotion.
Keep it gentle, less is better. Rinse with cold water in the morning and cleanse in the evening with a mild Purifying Cleanser, calm the skin with Hydrating Toner and Soothing Lotion, use a strengthening mask once or twice a week, and increase your omega 3 intake.
It can. Because rosacea is linked to an omega 3 / omega 6 imbalance, increasing omega 3 (oily fish, algae oil, walnuts, chia) and reducing excess omega 6, alcohol, spicy food and sugar can help calm inflammation from the inside.
Rosacea is a chronic condition and cannot be cured, but it can be managed well. Gentle, consistent skincare, avoiding your triggers and supporting your body with the right nutrition keep it calm. For severe or persistent symptoms, consult a doctor or dermatologist.
