Miracle Oil in winter: five ways to use it
In winter your skin often asks for a little more. Skin specialist Barbara Baars shares five ways to use our Organic Miracle Oil, from the last step of your routine to a few drops in your cream or mask.

In winter I reach for a facial oil more often than in any other season. Cold wind outside, dry air from the heating inside, and your skin feels tight or gets rough patches. A few drops of oil can make a real difference then. Our Organic Miracle Oil is a versatile oil, so in this blog I share five ways to use it this winter.
Why a facial oil helps in winter
A facial oil gives your skin fatty acids and helps it hold on to moisture. It forms a soft layer that protects your skin from wind and dry air, without feeling heavy. Do you want to know which kind of oil suits your skin type? Read my blog on which face oil suits your skin.
1. As the last step of your routine
The easiest way: use the oil as the final step, in the morning and in the evening. After cleansing and toning, warm a few drops between your palms and press them gently onto your face and neck. A few drops are enough. The oil absorbs quickly and leaves a natural glow, not a shiny layer.
Take a moment for it, too. If you massage the oil in with slow movements, it feels like a short facial massage. You can find a few simple techniques in our blog on facial massage.
2. A drop in your cream
Does your skin need extra nourishment, but do you prefer to keep your routine short? Mix one or two drops of oil into your day cream or night cream in the palm of your hand, then apply as usual. This works well in the evening with our Organic Night Cream, which gives your skin moisture and nourishment while you sleep.
3. Only on dry patches
You don't always need to use the oil all over your face. In winter many people get dry patches in particular places, for example around the nose, on the cheeks or along the jawline. Gently press a drop onto just those spots. The oil softens dry, rough and tight patches.
4. As a base before makeup
When your skin is dry, makeup often does not sit well and flaky patches show. In the morning, apply your Organic Day Cream first and then a little Miracle Oil. Give it a few minutes to absorb before you apply your makeup. That way the oil works as a nourishing base.
5. A few drops in your mask
Do you use a face mask once a week? Add a few drops of Miracle Oil to the mask when you mix it, for extra nourishment. This works with all of our masks, for example the enzyme peeling or the detox mask. Our masks are powders that you mix fresh each time, which makes it easy to add a little oil.
What is in our Organic Miracle Oil
Our Organic Miracle Oil contains 22 ingredients. It is a pure oil, without water. The base is jojoba oil, which softens the skin and helps keep its natural oils in balance without feeling heavy. Some of the other ingredients:
- St John's wort oil, the second ingredient on the list.
- Sesame oil, which nourishes dry skin with fatty acids.
- Vitamin E, an antioxidant.
- Extracts of rosehip, sea buckthorn and rose.
The oil suits all skin types, but we do not recommend it for skin with severe redness from rosacea.
In short
- In winter a facial oil helps your skin hold on to moisture and protects it from wind and dry air.
- Use the oil as the last step, morning and evening.
- Mix a drop into your cream or use it only on dry patches.
- As a base before makeup, give it a few minutes to absorb.
- Add a few drops to your face mask for extra nourishment.
