Almond oil

Sweet almond oil is a soft, nourishing plant oil from almond kernels. It makes the skin supple, helps it hold on to moisture and is gentle enough for the delicate skin around your eyes. That is why almond oil is the first ingredient of our Make-up Remover, and it is also part of our Supreme Skin Elixir.

What is it?

Sweet almond oil (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) is pressed from the kernels of the sweet almond. The oil is pale yellow, has almost no scent and is rich in oleic acid, linoleic acid and vitamin E. It is one of the best known oils in natural skincare, because it softens the skin without feeling heavy.

Oil dissolves oil. That is why almond oil is so good at removing make-up and SPF: it loosens them gently, so you do not have to rub. In our Make-up Remover it is combined with jojoba and a blend of herbal extracts. It is the first step of a double cleanse.

Application

How to use

Use the Make-up Remover in the evening as your first step: apply a little to your skin and eyes, let it dissolve your make-up and wipe or rinse it off gently. Then wash your face with the Purifying Cleanser. In the Supreme Skin Elixir, almond oil is one of the nourishing oils that you apply after your toner.

Does almond oil clog pores?+

Almond oil is a fairly rich oil. Most people tolerate it well on the face, especially in a cleanser that you wipe or rinse off. If your skin is very oily or prone to blemishes, a lighter oil such as jojoba may feel more comfortable as an oil you leave on.

Can you remove make-up with almond oil?+

Yes. Oil dissolves make-up, including mascara and SPF, so you hardly have to rub. Follow with a mild cleanser to remove the last traces.

What is the difference between sweet and bitter almond oil?+

Skincare uses sweet almond oil, a mild oil from the kernels of the sweet almond. Bitter almond oil comes from a different variety and is mainly used as a fragrance.

Can I use almond oil if I have a nut allergy?+
