Aloe Vera for your skin: benefits & care

Aloe Vera – Abloom Slow Skincare

As a skin specialist, I always look closely at the ingredients in skincare products. Because what you put on your skin truly makes a difference. My starting point is simple: why wouldn’t you support your skin’s natural functions as much as possible with ingredients that come from nature?

After all, the skin is a remarkable organ that can do so much on its own. It protects, repairs, removes waste and produces collagen and elastin, among other things. With the right care you can support those natural processes instead of working against them. That is exactly why, at Abloom, we choose organic ingredients with a proven effect.

Aloe Vera: a powerhouse from nature

One ingredient that, as far as I’m concerned, simply cannot be missing is Aloe Vera. A true powerhouse from nature. A few years ago Aloe Vera suddenly became hugely popular, which can make it seem a little ‘ordinary’. But believe me: nothing could be further from the truth. Aloe Vera has been loved for centuries for its remarkable caring properties.

Why the ‘desert lily’?

The plant has the beautiful nickname ‘desert lily’ – and not without reason: Aloe Vera copes wonderfully with heat and is able to store water in its leaves. It is exactly that quality that makes it so interesting for the skin.

What Aloe Vera does for your skin

Aloe Vera naturally contains vitamins A, C and E, minerals, 18 amino acids and enzymes. These nutrients support the skin and help keep it healthy, supple and resilient. Aloe Vera is also known for its hydrating and soothing effect.

But there’s more. Aloe Vera has antibacterial and antifungal properties too, can help calm the skin and give it a more even appearance. It is also valued for its ability to help reduce redness – which makes it lovely for sensitive, easily reddened skin.

Lignin: nature’s secret carrier

A special component is lignin, an organic substance that helps other caring ingredients absorb more easily into the skin. This allows the various nutrients to do their work in the different layers of the skin. It is also exactly why we blend our products with Aloe Vera instead of water – so every active can work as deeply as possible.

Give your skin what it needs

When you choose a skincare product, look beyond the packaging or a pretty promise. Above all, look at which ingredients your skin actually receives. Curious about the rest? You’ll find them all in our ingredient glossary.

For me, Aloe Vera is a wonderful example: a natural ingredient that hydrates, cares for, calms and supports the skin. You’ll find it at the heart of our Organic Hydrating Toner.

And perhaps that is the most beautiful form of skincare: not doing more and more, but giving your skin exactly what it needs.
